Buttermilk & Honey Frontier Cakes

I’ve tried a lot of mixes that turn out dense and gummy, but these cakes stay light even after sitting a minute on the plate. The honey comes through just enough to feel wholesome without being cloying, and the oat texture gives it a nice heartiness.

The buttermilk really comes through, and the honey sweetness is just right—not cloying at all. I made a batch of waffles this morning and they had that nice crisp edge from the whole grain flour. Probably my new go-to for lazy weekend breakfasts.

The oats give it a hearty texture that cooks up fluffy but still fills you up, and the honey sweetness comes through without being cloying. I've made both flapjacks and waffles with it, and they turn out great every time.
